Poetry by Brandon Rucker
Body
This body it speaks to me
In the glorious light of day
And under the shroud of night
It soothes
With its secret language
And flicking tongue
It beckons
With its peaks and valleys
And silken skin
It sings
Soul-soaring melodies
Against pulsing rhythms
It dances
To the tide of the ocean
Under the lonesome moon
It taunts
With powers undaunted
Unbridled and sweeping
It conquers
Me in a blaze of passion
With the fervor of love
This body
